September 5, 2017
The Jefferson Parish Public School System is partnering with Second Harvest Food Bank to serve families impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
“We saw such devastation in both Louisiana and Texas,” said JPPSS Superintendent Isaac G. Joseph. “I know so many people feel compelled to help. We were in their situation 12 years ago and many, including our neighbors in Louisiana and Texas, came to our aid.”
Most JPPSS schools and district offices will accept the following donations from September 7-14.
- Pop-top canned meat – tuna and chicken
- Granola/cereal bars
- Peanut butter
- Wipes (disinfectant and baby)
- Toothbrushes and toothpaste
Clothing, books, toys, etc… cannot be accepted during this drive.
J.Q. ADAMS MIDDLE SCHOOL WILL COLLECT DONATIONS FROM STUDENTS, FAMILIES, TEACHERS AND STAFF BEGINNING FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7TH. BOXES FOR DONATIONS WILL BE LOCATED IN THE FRONT OFFICE, CAFETERIA AND STUDENT SERVICES.
In addition to most school campuses, items will also be accepted at the JPPSS Administration Building at 501 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey, the Paul Emenes Building at 822 S. Clearview Parkway in Harahan, and the JPPSS Warehouse at 4600 River Road in Marrero.
