My name is Mr. Chauvin and I will be teaching your child 8th grade Louisiana History this year! Born in raised in New Orleans I have always thought we have one of the most interesting histories in the United States. Hopefully my enthusiasm will rub of a bit on the students!!!
It was a joy interacting with your children these first few days. In order to help make it a productive year, the first few days we focused on classroom management and Adams’ PATH to Success.
We also spent time on the class syllabus which includes information about grading, student goals, and course descriptions. Each student has received a copy of the syllabus. It will need to be signed by both the student and a parent or guardian. I would like the signed contracts to be turned in by Friday, August 25.
Starting the upcoming week, I will be posting homework assignments on dashboard. As part of our daily routines, these assignments will also be posted in the classroom. Please remind your child to get in the habit of checking the designated area in the room and dashboard for assignments. Let’s have a great year!
