Mission & Vision

John Quincy Adams Middle School is located in Maned Downs Subdivision of Metairie. It is situated on 10.5 acres near Lake Pontchartrain in a residential neighborhood. The school opened in 1967 and is accredited by the Louisiana State Board of Education and by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Presently, there are approximately 800 sixth, seventh, and eighth graders enrolled at Adams.

Adams is committed to providing a quality academic education to students in the middle years. We strive to provide a safe and orderly environment where students have the same opportunity to experience success. The curriculum is directed toward providing a well-rounded preparation for high schools and for life. There are 38 classrooms, a 20,000 volume library, two zoological atriums, a gymnasium, a cafeteria, a talent center, a Performing Arts Center, and several athletic fields.
